Please read these terms carefully before using our website or placing an order. By using this website or placing an order, you agree to be bound by them.

Who We Are

Throughout these terms, "we", "us" and "our" refer to 2D Figure Painting. "You" and "your" refer to the person using our website or placing an order.

Definitions

Figure means a collectible figure that we repaint by hand to your order.

Commission means an order for a hand-painted or repainted figure.

Course means the 2D Figure Painting Course or any other digital product we sell.

Proof means the photographs of your completed figure that we send you for approval before dispatch.

Service means our website and everything offered through it.

Using Our Website

You must be at least 18 years old to place an order with us.

You agree to use our website lawfully, and not to interfere with it, attempt to gain unauthorised access to it, or use it in a way that could damage or disable it.

We may suspend or withdraw access to the website at any time, and we are not liable if it is unavailable for any period.

What We Sell

Our main products are figure repaints, including the figure unless clearly stated otherwise, and the digital 2D Figure Painting Course. Each product page explains what is included. Any other products offered are governed by their own description and applicable consumer rights.

For a separately agreed repaint of a figure you own, contact us before sending it. We must agree suitability, a brief, price, shipping arrangements and timescale first.

Placing an Order

By placing an order you warrant that you are legally capable of entering into a binding contract, and that the information you give us is true, accurate and complete.

When a contract is formed

Your order is an offer to buy from us. We accept your offer when we send you an order confirmation email. A contract is formed at that point, and not before.

Orders we may decline

We may refuse or cancel an order at any time, including where:

  • The figure is unavailable or cannot be sourced
  • The price or description was published in error
  • There is an error in your order
  • We suspect fraud, or an unauthorised or unlawful transaction
  • The commission requested is one we are not willing to produce

Where we cancel an order you have paid for, we will refund you in full.

Commission briefs

For a commission, you are responsible for providing a clear brief — reference images, colour notes, and any specific detail that matters to you — before painting begins.

If a particular detail matters to you, tell us before painting begins so we can agree it. We remain responsible for the published description, the agreed brief and any standards required by law.

Where you send us reference photographs, you confirm you have the right to do so.

We may decline a commission at our discretion. This includes work that would infringe a third party's intellectual property, and work we consider offensive or unlawful.

Prices and Payment

All prices are shown in pounds sterling and include our painting work.

We may revise our prices at any time before accepting an order. The price that applies to your order is the price shown when you place it.

Once we accept an order, we do not increase its agreed price without your agreement. If an error or unforeseen issue means we cannot fulfil it as agreed, we will contact you and offer a suitable resolution, including a full refund where we cancel the unfulfilled order.

How you can pay

Payment is taken in full at checkout, except where the instalment option is selected.

The payment methods actually available for your order are shown at checkout. Availability can vary by country, device and provider. Any third-party payment-plan agreement is governed by that provider’s terms.

Instalments

Where the instalment option is selected at checkout, the amount charged at that point is a deposit, not the full price.

The balance is invoiced once your figure is completed and approved, and must be paid in full before dispatch.

The studio deposit arrangement is separate from any payment plan offered by a third-party provider at checkout. These terms do not make a regulatory classification of a payment product.

Full terms are set out in our Refund and Returns Policy.

Card authorisation

Payment cards are subject to validation and authorisation by your card issuer. If authorisation is not received, we are not liable for any delay or non-delivery.

Hand-Painted Work

Every figure is painted individually by a human artist.

No two figures are identical, and no repaint is an exact reproduction of a reference image, photograph, video, prototype or previous commission. Variation in colour, tone, shading, line work and finish is a normal characteristic of hand-painted work, not a defect.

Colours displayed on a screen differ from physical paint. Your figure may appear more or less vibrant in person than it does on your device.

By ordering, you accept this.

Approval Before Dispatch

Nothing ships until you have seen it.

When your figure is complete we send you photographs of the finished piece. You then approve it, or raise a concern.

Approval confirms the visible finish you have accepted; it does not remove statutory rights for faults, hidden defects, damage or goods that are not as described.

Our Refund and Returns Policy sets out what happens at the proof stage, including what occurs if you decline.

Delivery

Our studio is in Vietnam and all orders are dispatched from there.

Delivery times, customs charges, lost parcels and damaged parcels are covered in our Shipping Policy, which forms part of these terms.

Import duties and taxes are your responsibility. We cannot predict them and cannot refund them.

Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery.

Cancellations, Refunds and Returns

Our Refund and Returns Policy forms part of these terms. It explains our voluntary cancellation window and any proportionate, evidenced cancellation deductions.

A statutory cooling-off exception may apply where a figure is genuinely made to your individual specification or clearly personalised. It does not automatically apply to every hand-painted catalogue item. Digital cancellation rights are lost only after the required express consent, acknowledgement and supply conditions have been met. Our Digital Course Terms explain this.

Your rights where goods or digital content are faulty, damaged, unavailable or not as described are unaffected.

Availability and Errors

We work to keep our website accurate, but we cannot guarantee that every price, image, description or availability indication is correct and current.

We may correct errors, inaccuracies and omissions, and may change or update information, at any time and without prior notice.

Where we discover an error in the price or description of something you have ordered, we will contact you before proceeding, and you may cancel for a full refund.

Intellectual Property

Ours

The website and its content — text, images, photographs, graphics, branding, course material and page design — belong to us or our licensors, and are protected by copyright and trade mark law.

You may not reproduce, distribute or commercially exploit any of it without our written permission.

Photographs we take belong to us or the relevant photographer. We will not publish private reference photographs you provide without permission. Where we wish to show an identifiable private commission as described in our Privacy Policy, we will ask permission first.

Third-party characters and brands

The figures we repaint depict characters owned by third parties. We claim no ownership of, and no affiliation with, any character, franchise, studio or manufacturer.

We provide hand-painted figure repaints and, where stated in the listing, supply the figure as part of the order. We do not claim ownership of the underlying characters or an official licence or affiliation unless expressly stated and supported.

Yours

Reference material you send us remains yours. You grant us a licence to use it for the purpose of completing your commission.

Your Feedback

If you send us feedback or suggestions about our service, you grant us an unrestricted, royalty-free, worldwide right to use them without obligation to you.

Reviews

Reviews shown on our website are collected and displayed through Judge.me, a third-party review platform which operates under its own terms and privacy policy.

Where you leave a review, you confirm it is your own honest opinion based on genuine experience of our service.

We do not remove reviews simply because they are unfavourable. You grant us permission to display your review on our website and in our marketing.

Links to Other Websites

Our website may link to third-party sites. We have no control over them, do not endorse them, and are not responsible for their content, products or privacy practices.

Our Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts statutory consumer rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation and death or personal injury caused by negligence.

We remain responsible for foreseeable loss or damage caused by our breach of contract or failure to use reasonable care and skill, to the extent required by law. We do not promise that following a course will produce a particular artistic result, income or business outcome. These consumer terms do not impose a blanket cap that overrides remedies provided by law.

Events Outside Our Control

We are not liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations where that failure or delay results from events outside our reasonable control.

Where such an event occurs, we will contact you, take reasonable steps to reduce its impact and discuss the options. Any right to cancel and any refund are determined by the circumstances and applicable law; we do not automatically limit a legally required refund to work not yet carried out.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to our website immediately, without notice, where you breach these terms.

Complaints and Disputes

If you have a concern, please contact us first at info@2dfigurepainting.com. We will do our best to resolve it.

Please allow us a reasonable opportunity to put things right before raising a payment dispute or chargeback.

General

Changes to these terms

We may modify these terms at any time. The version in force when you place an order is the version that applies to that order.

Where a change is material, we will take reasonable steps to notify you.

Severability

If any provision of these terms is held to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.

Waiver

A failure to enforce a right under these terms does not waive that right.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. This does not prevent a consumer from bringing proceedings in courts available to them under mandatory consumer law, or remove mandatory protection in their country of residence.

If you are a consumer resident in the European Economic Area, you benefit from any mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence.

Translation

Translations are provided to help you understand the terms. Nothing in this clause overrides mandatory consumer law or a representation on which you are legally entitled to rely.

The order-related terms form part of your agreement. Privacy and cookie notices explain data processing and do not replace a separate consent requirement.
